Part 2 of this series of article on Rudraksha attempt to explain the precautions while wearing the Rudraksha, the ways/suggestions to choose and wear the Rudraksha.
Precautions necessary while wearing Rudraksha
It is important to use a genuine Rudraksha since there are a lot of fake which can be made of cardboards.
- It’s important to buy from a proper source
- A fake Rudraksha will float in water but a real one would settle at the bottom of the water.
- Do not wear a Rudraksha which has been eaten away by insects and pests
- Do not wear a Rudraksha which is broken or chipped
- Do not wear a Rudraksha which was broken while a hole was being made in it
How To Choose & How To Wear A Rudraksha:
- Basically, the lighter the bead, the better; the Rudraksha from Nepal that has a natural hole and is brown in colour is highly recommended (The beads produced in India are called Bhadrakshas and they do not have natural holes and the ones from Indonesia are called Indrakshas; these beads do not have easily visible lines.)
- The bead should be worn around the neck on a gold or silver chain or on a cotton tread. It should hang as low as the chest.
- Its bead can be imbedded in gold or silver threads. Red colored thread can also be used
- The Rudraksha must be prayed every day to ensure wealth and affluence
- The greatest benefit is available to those who wear a necklace of 108 beads
- Success comes forty days after wearing it on the proviso that full faith must be adhere to by the wearer
- The best time to first start wearing it is either on a new or full moon day; once you do put it on, do not let anyone else touch it. Keep it in a safe place when not in use.
- Astrologers say the bead has enormous power to mitigate the negative period in an individual’s horoscope; they will usually recommend an appropriate bead to ease adverse planetary effects.
- The smaller Rudraksha is more beneficial for meditation and prayers. It is advisable to use the bigger Rudraksha for curing illnesses.
