Prophecies Stories- Joan of Arc

In the ancient time, amongst the many prophecies, there is few more astonishing than that of Joan of Arc known as Maid Of Orlean.

In 1429, at a time when France’s fortunes in the Hundred Years War with England were at their lowest ebb, an illiterate peasant girl who saw visions of angels managed to gain an introduction to the King of France. In just a few days she persuaded him that she could boost the morale of his flagging army.Sent to Orleans, which was under English’s siege, she succeeded in freeing the city and driving off the attacking army in just nine days.

She then fulfilled a pledge to take the king across enemy-held land to the city of Rheims ( where French kings were traditionally crowned) for his coronation which had been delayed for more than six years by the English occupation.
Later, she was condemned by her own French bishops in collusion with the English and was accused of heresy and witchdraft and burned at the stake at the tender age still not yet 20 years old.

In the above case, Joan’s prophetic gift took the form of voices which she first heard at the age of 13 which were supposed to be from St Michael, St Catherine and St Margaret the three patron saints of the district of eastern France which Joan came. The voices told her to go to the king and offer her services. She manage to persuade the local military commander to send her in male disguise with an escort and a recommendation to Charles VII was in itself little short of a miracle.
